National Trails Day 2010

Join PMBA and FOW for National Trails Day and perform some volunteer trail work!

PMBA will be leading trail work near where Hartwell Lane meets the trail, just north of Valley Green Rd. If you park at Valley Green, cross the creek and make a left and head north on main trail and you will run into us.

FOW will lead tree planting along the Orange Trail near Valley Green.  In 2009, FOW undertook a large-scale trail project to completely overhaul the trails to Devil's Pool from Valley Green Road and Livezey Lane. The final stage of this overhaul calls for extensive planting to revitalize the forest in areas adjacent to the trail.   Learn about FOW’s Sustainable Trails Initiative and long-term restoration efforts in the Wissahickon.  Help us to re-vegetate impacted areas and keep the trail and forest in good shape for coming generations. 

Directions:

Meet at at the gated trail head by the stone bridge across from Valley Green.  Please DO NOT park in the lot next to Valley Green Inn, which is reserved for Inn customers.  Please park in the lot on the Wise Mill Road side or the upper lot on the Valley Green Road Side, or better yet, RIDE YOUR BIKE.
