PMBA 2011 Skills Clinics

The PMBA skills clinics are back again by popular demand!

For those who are not familiar with the skills clinic, last year we revamped the teaching technique for the clinics to include a two portion segment: closed course & group ride. The close course segment allowed the riders to practice a variety of riding techniques in an unthreatening setting, with personal instructions.  Riders went thru a series of handing skills, log overs, & balance obstacles while having personalized coaching; after which multiple group rides grouped by skill level went thru the park on a guided ride where they put their newly learned skills to use!

This year we will follow a similar format, especially with the closed course segment.  The group segment has been slightly revamped.  The group rides will still be broken down into many groups grouped by skill level but each clinic will have a particular obstacle focus.

NOTE: trail permits from Fairmount Park are necessary to ride the upper trails at Wissahickon.  Please obtain your permits in advance from http://www.fairmountpark.org/trailpermits.asp

You do not need to be a member of PMBA to participate – however your donations are greatly appreciated. 

Also don’t forget that the TUESDAY following the clinics will be a beginner friendly ride beginning at Pachella Pavilion!

All participants will have a FREE Myoplex (recovery drink) for them following each clinic – brought to you by our friends at EAS!
