PMBA OCTOBER 2010 Trail Day at Nockamixon State Park

We will focus our efforts on bench cutting and rock armorning a new section of trail at Nockamixon State Park. Our friends up north, Valley Mountain Bikers, are spearheading a project to build new trails which are permitted to mountain bikers and we have been working with them and need to get members up there to help them do the actual building! PA DCNR has APPROVED these trails and we have the green light, which is HUGE for mountain bikers in Eastern Pennsylvania. To corridor was cleared at our last TMD day and now we are ready to cut some trail!   Those of us heading up are going to bring our bikes and ride after the trail work. Gonna make this road trip even more worth while so don't forget your bike.

Sunday the 26th Sep. we will be clearing the corridor at Nockamixon State Park.  This will include using power tools such as chainsaws,  gas powered hedge clippers and other sharp objects.  If you are not familiar with the use of these tools please do not try to use them.  There will be plenty of other work stuff to do such as scattering the cut up trees and brush outside of the view of the trail.  

We will not be bench cutting the trail at this time.  Leave your hoe at home and enjoy a day blazing through multi flora rose, cedars, spice bush and some occasional poison ivy.

Awesome day! Myself, Coyle, Fortune, Krotee and Dierks showed up and build trails! So much fun and these are going to be really fun, flowy and fast trails. Nothing hard core yet, and I say yet... Come on out and help in the future!

Still remembering a great day!
I still look back and remember walking around checking out the developing trail and landscape, lots of positive momentum growing as the trail sprouted from our hard work.  Was a good day indeed.

We ride at one speed ...Full!
