Let the good times flow....
Cool, posted info above to add to event. we have a 29er to raffle off
Cutters Bike Shop is raffling off a brand new Specialized Hardrock Disc 29er to raise money for the VMB and Nockamixon trails. The drawing will be held at the Nockamixon grand opening on Sunday, Oct 9th. You DO NOT have to be present to win. The bike is a medium, matte black w/ano green hubs. We won't do a size or color change, we are trying to keep it simple and just raise money for the club. The bike is hanging in the window at the shop and you can buy tickets here. Tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5. If anyone from the club is intereted in helping sell tix please come by to pick some up. Let's raise some dough...come buy some tix!!! For anyone not familiar with the shop I have attached a link to our website. The link below that is to Specialized's website with a picture of the bike and spec.

Tom Burrows did a great job on a map for the grand opening, print one out for your ride.
Very pleased you all pulled this off Kenny. We need a write-up of the event for the home page.
Had a blast on the trails yesterday after going out on two rides. Did a short loop then came back to the ten and went out again for a larger loop. The trails were flowy and fun! Hats off to VMB.
We ride at one speed ...Full!

On October 9, 2011 at 10:00am the Valley Mountain Bikers, Philadelphia Mountain Biking Association, and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources are hosting the official Grand Opening for a new multi-use mountain biking and hiking trail system in Nockamixon State Park. The Grand Opening events will consist of a ribbon cutting ceremony and guided mountain bike rides on the new trails. All ability levels can ride Nockamixon, including kids.
Late in 2008 the Valley Mountain Bikers and Philadelphia Mountain Biking Association along with the International Mountain Bicycling Association began working with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Park Manager Obie Derr to design and construct mountain biking and hiking trails in the park’s eastern area, known as Haycock Cove. The planning and design work began almost immediately, with construction starting in September 2010. As of September 2011 there are over 9 miles of completed trail, with additional mileage under construction. These new multi-use trails are approved for mountain biking and hiking. To date, over 2,000 hours of volunteer efforts organized by Valley Mountain Bikers and Philadelphia Mountain Biking Association have been invested in this project.
The Grand Opening is a great opportunity for you and your family to experience a new outdoor recreation opportunity right here in Bucks County. So please stop by the Haycock boat launch any time between 10am and 2pm to enjoy the outdoors on some great new trails. There will be complimentary food and drinks for event participants. Donations will be accepted at the entrance to the event and at the VMB tent for expanding the parking area at Tower Road and constructing a Kiosk at the trailhead.
Many local bike shops will be on hand to provide free bike demos and tech support. You can try out a new mountain bike for free! A raffle will also be held to raise funds to expand the parking lot at Tower Road since it is already overflowing with bikers and hikers. Generous donations from the local bike shops and businesses will make this possible.
