Anyone going to Blue or Diablo either Sat or Sun? I'd like to hit one of them this weekend. I'd really like to get to Diablo though...haven't been yet this year.
I am up for a DH ride. Probably just Blue this weekend. Unless we can get a crew for Diablo? It's gonna be hot though and that is a shit load of time sitting in an air conditioned car...
Let the good times flow....
I would go Saturday, yet preferably Sunday....
here is a forecast:
Saturday...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 80s. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Saturday Night...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening...then partly cloudy after midnight. Lows in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Sunday...Mostly sunny. Highs around 90.
Sunday Night...Partly cloudy in the evening...then becoming mostly clear. Lows around 70.
We ride at one speed ...Full!
Sunday looks good, thay way Brew is in too. My vote is Diablo since I haven't been there yet and I want to work on my jumping - and see all the crazy new shite, but I won't exactly break down in tears if we have to Blitzkrieg Blue instead.
Got back from Diablo last Saturday and noticed a crack in my rack, so I'm in if someone can give me a lift... Don't care where... though Diablo has sooo much more variety especially for my skill level.
I'm out for Saturday, potentially in for Sunday if we goto Blue.
Anytime...
Sunday is the DAY! Storms Sat will water the dirt and it will be perfect Sunday with mid 80's and tacky dirt! I am definitely up for Blue but I will even head to Daiblo and session all the new jumps. Let's figure it out on Sat...

I just reserved a campsite at Mahlon Dickerson Reservation. It was $19 and 20 mins from Diablo. Leaving late morning on Saturday.
if someone can give me a ride that would be awesome. i am in for tomorrow, either blue or diablo. i can probably bring a camra if you guys want so we can get some footage of the new jumps. either way, let me know.
ride the trail, dont let the trail ride you
Right now I'm definitely leaning towards Blue. I'm thinking late morning departure ~11:00am or so, get to blue around noon after the squids soak up the mud. Then hammer like 7-9 runs and be done. Home by dinner time bitches!

Diablo: Krotee and Koch are coming with me and I can fit Callum. Unless Hunter wants to ride with Koch and then Curt and Cal can ride with me. That's if Curt and Hunter nut up and head north to the promise land. Cal can you get here at 6:15? Plan is to be riding by 9:30 latest and quit riding at 2-2:30, pack up and roll and maybe stop for some food in route and be home around 6... Whayyda think?
Let the good times flow....
i can be home whenever you want. dinner has been cancelled
ride the trail, dont let the trail ride you
I drove last weekend, not planning on driving again
Anytime...
i am planning on being at Lou's at 6:15 as well, John.

Heal fast Johnny! It was a great day and unfortunately shit happens. But I know you were having loads of fun leading up to the crash. I could tell by the ear-to-ear smile on your face!
You'll be ready to Blitz by September in the perfect weather and conditions!

Man, what an epic day... Some definite carnage, our staff lawyer bites the dust on the last corner of the last run, confirmed broken collarbone (bogus!). I'm basically walking sideways because my lower back/pelvis is so out of wack, probably from casing that roller double after the step up section. I know curt's gotta be a little sore today as well (that double next to the cannon is mad dogging him!). Anyways, look for a full write up on the day once brewer uploads the video.
Anytime...
Ok, here she is. I guess that's what happens ehen you go down after full throttle sprint through a berm. Keep you posted re what the ortho doc says.

Ouch! That's a pretty bad one, I've never broke mine in two places like that! Must be very painful right now. Doc Oken will get you fixed up, if he can put meat heads knee back together, he can plate up that collarbone, let us know what he says.
Anytime...
The rest of you are pussies.
Get better, John!
Let's bicycle boogie!
Okin said it was only one break, not two - I'm assuming the gap on the right must be cartlige. This shot was taken from about waste height, looking up at the bone. As per the advice of my doctor friends and folks, I plan on getting a second opinion tomorrow. Okin suggested surgery, but said it was not required - that there was a good chance the bone would heal naturally, but with a big lump by the break. However, there is a chance it would not heal properly, in which case invasive surgery would be required in a month. Also if I go the natural route, I will be immobile for a much longer period - he said about 3 weeks in a sling, and the pain will be prolonged (which means prolonged pain meds and inability to drive). If I do surgary, I'll be mobile after about a week or so and the pain would be significantly reduced. However, Okin advised that under either route, assuming success, I should not be back on a bike for 3 months.
. That's another reason I'm eager to seek another opnion, but bottom line is that I'm not going to f ark with it and risk a poor healing. Long term - long term.
If "no pain no gain" is really true, I had better be super man in 3 months! Hopefully it won't be that long. Maybe XC will be permissible at an earlier time.
Here is Brew's video from our 7-11-2010 day! Good stuff!
