Yet another great day at Launch

Had another awesome day at Launch. Dirt was absolutely perfect consistency, and a good crew ripped it up in the sweltering heat... Paul (current PMBA pres) had his birthday and rode the trails extremely well with a 6" travel bike and no full face helmet... We had a post ride BBQ as the heat was subsiding...

We need more people to give it a try. Head on up and check it out... You will have a good time for sure... And you will give much needed support to this facility which we all want to succeed so we can enjoy it for years to come, and the next generation of rippers will too...

Can't wait to check it out.

Am I right there are no DH/FR rental options, at the mtn or in Philly? I'll take my 140 mm FS bike there if its my only choice, it sounds like I can still have a ton of fun there on that.  But would love to try it on something better suited if I had the option.

Yeah great day.  Paul rode pretty damn well on that bike, and it's not really even setup for that place yet.

I really want to get up there.  It's a sin I haven't been yet.  I have my new springs in and I can go either early Sat morning or all day Sunday this weekend.

I haven't been for a few weeks now...Defiantly gotta get there if you haven't yet...can't wait to see the new features recently built, my DH is in shop getting worked on by Miko at AWW.

There's also a good (if simple) video showing some of the Launch trails recently posted over at mtbr in the PA forum.

I'm taking it that the lack of response to my question about DH/FR rentals suggests that no such options exist.

No rentals this year... They are working on it for next year, and the amount of riders they get this year will help. It's the cart before the horse scenario. If they have rental bikes, they will have more people... But you can ride the trails on any bike, it's just the speed you can carry moves up as the suspension travel moves up... And, unfortunately, so does the impact if/when you hit the ground...

Stay Tuned for PMBA/Spring Day

We will also be having a PMBA/Spring Day at Spring Mountain (July 16th) w/ reduced lift price for all PMBA members, kids course, food available, etc.  We are fine tuning the event over the next week, but expect an annoucement within the next two weeks. 

We are also going to be looking for volunteers for anyone interested!

I'm planning to head up there Saturday. I can't go early morning like kochjg. If anyone's interested in going up together or meeting up there, I'm game.
