Take a Kid Mountain Bike Day - TAKMBD - SUCCESS

3rd Annual TAKMBD was a SUCCESS

On Saturday, October 2, 2010, PMBA hosted the third annual TAKMBD event.  Despite the storms, it was a beautiful fall day and the trails were dry.    Events like TAKMBD allow our members to share the mountain biking experience with their children.

Kids ranged from the very young on scooters bikes to middle-school aged on full suspension bikes.   Neighborhood Bike Works (NBW) kids also enjoyed the day.   Kids of all ages honed their skills on the portable TTF (technical trail features) including the balance beam, teeter-totter, rock garden and log-over and were introduced to mountain biking on trails on the kids loop.    Kids who couldn’t get enough went on group rides.

The only tears were of the departing kids.   We’ve inspired a new generation of mountain bikers who just can’t get enough!

Thanks to all the parents who participated in this years’ event and all the members who volunteered their time for this very worthy event!  As always these events are only pulled off with the time and effort of many people:
